Preface: This is a paper I wrote for my English 102 class on the validity of the New Testament and why it should be studied. It was meant to be a 15 page argument paper, but we were able to talk the teacher down to 9 pages. The following paper is 11 pages (with the worked cited) in Times New Roman 12 point font, double spaced. So grab a beverage and a comfy place; my hope is this will edify you. This is why I have stacked my life, both finite and eternal, on the words found in a book.
Jesus told them, “This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things. I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.” ~Luke 24:46-49

Adventures in Apologetics: Incest In The Bible
"What about all the incest in the Bible? Especially in Genesis?"
This is a common objection you will hear from "cut and paste Atheists" that seem to troll around the web. What they don't seem to realize is how self-defeating that question is to there worldview.
How is it self-defeating?
Well, in the Atheist (Agnostic/Secular Humanist etc..) worldview, there is no room for absolute statements without contradictions.
In other worlds, everything is relative in there worldview. For example, an unbelieving person can not say "murder is wrong" because by doing so they admit in moral absolutes, which are inconsistent with there worldview but consistent with the Theist worldview.
They have to say, "Nothing is 'morally wrong', it's all relative to the person."
So, now to address the "incest issue" in two ways.

How Can We Know The Bible Is True?

"Yes, God's word is perfect. You assume that the bible is God's 'perfect' word. How can you prove that, without using the flawed argument that the bible says so?"
Let me start out this "answer" with a remark.
I can in no way "prove" anything to anyone. All I can do is provide evidence for my claims. The Bible says that many people are blind and unwilling to settle for evidence no matter how much evidence you provide.
(Romans 1:21, Ephesians 4:18, and many others!)
Now, the best answer (though if you'd like more, check out the video in the side bar titled "Can We Trust The Bible" after you finish reading this) I can give you does in fact come from Scripture. It is not "flawed" to use the Bible to prove the Bibles Truth. Doing so would be like trying to prove gravity without using gravity.

Signature Of Divine
Something I wrote almost a year ago on the old blog about "How Can We Trust The Bible?"
the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.
We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
We’ve all heard the common Atheist phrase, “Reading The Bible will make you an Atheist.” But I beg to differ, not thinking will make you an Atheist, The Bible tells us in Romans 1:20 that “God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.” It says that everyone is without excuse before God, no matter what Idolatry they’ve committed, or lie they’ve told, when they stand before God on Judgement Day, where our every wandering thought will be judged we can not say, “Lord, there was never any sign you were there…” Romans 1 is a promise from God, that He will always be here, even when He feels far away from us, He is there.
