"Yes, God's word is perfect. You assume that the bible is God's 'perfect' word. How can you prove that, without using the flawed argument that the bible says so?"
Let me start out this "answer" with a remark.
I can in no way "prove" anything to anyone. All I can do is provide evidence for my claims. The Bible says that many people are blind and unwilling to settle for evidence no matter how much evidence you provide.
(Romans 1:21, Ephesians 4:18, and many others!)
Now, the best answer (though if you'd like more, check out the video in the side bar titled "Can We Trust The Bible" after you finish reading this) I can give you does in fact come from Scripture. It is not "flawed" to use the Bible to prove the Bibles Truth. Doing so would be like trying to prove gravity without using gravity.
Anyway, read this passage out of Isaiah 53:
" 4 Surely he took up our pain
and bore our suffering,
yet we considered him punished by God,
stricken by him, and afflicted.
5 But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
and by his wounds we are healed.
6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
each of us has turned to our own way;
and the LORD has laid on him
the iniquity of us all."
I'd like to ask you, "Who does do you think this passage is written about?"
Do you think it is referring to Jesus Christ? You would be correct that it is. But, here's the kicker; it was written nearly 500 years before Jesus was born!
The Bible is the only Book to contain answered prophecy. (as oppose to the Qur'an, or the sacred texts of Hindus or Buddhists). There is far more then just this.
There are thousands prophecies in the Bible and to address all of them here would bee crazy, go and check them out for yourself. Come humbly to His Word and it will answer for Itself.
But here is one more prophecy just in case you might think that Jesus had a checklist that He went through of prophecies.
When Jesus was hung up on the Cross, after He was beaten, spat on, and mocked, the soldiers did something odd. They cast His clothes into lots. (Matthew 27:35) This was not only uncommon for them to do, but something that would have been quite "out of the blue." But, with God, nothing is "out of the blue."
This happened to fulfill Psalm 22:18 "They divide my garments among them and cast lots for my clothing" which is the chapter Jesus would reference during the time of His death. (Matthew 27:46)
Jesus was the fulfillment of everything in the Old Testament, and is the Glory of the New.
Have you really ever thought of what Jesus did on the cross? It is one of the most important question you can yourself. Did you ever think of the Cross as a legal transaction?
See, due to our own sinfulness we have broken God's Law (the Ten Commandments) by lying and stealing. God's Law even goes deeper; into the heart. Every time we lust or hate it is the same as committing adultery or murdering. (Matthew 5:27-28, 1 John 3:15)
Because of this we will stand before God as criminals, as liars, thieves, adulterers and murderers, guilty and condemned to an eternity in Hell. I mean, for what reason should God let us go? He is the Just and Perfect Judge.
But, then God stepped in.
Jesus went to that Romans Cross, after living a sinless life, and died for you and me on the Cross. Jesus stepped into pay our fine. (Or, as Isaiah put it, "bear our iniquities") He was pierced for us.
"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that who so ever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life" ~John 3:16
We must receive the gift of everlasting life, by repenting (literally meaning to do a 180 degree turn) from our sins and Trust alone in Christ for our salvation. God will grant you everlasting life, and give you a new heart with new desires. Please, consider where you'll spend eternity, repent and Trust in Christ. You don't want to go to Hell, and I don't want you to go there.
In conclusion, the Word of God has many mistakes in it. And by that I mean, you don't have to read very far before you find people who have made mistakes. The first mistake was when Adam rejected Eve in the Garden of Eden, don't do the same.
